Florida’s two-day recreational sport season for spiny lobster runs Wednesday and Thursday this week, with the regular commercial and recreation season running Aug. 6 through March 2023.
The mini season for the social bottom-dwellers includes a 12-lobster-per-person daily limit statewide, except in Monroe County and Biscayne National Park, where the limit is six per person.
Night diving is prohibited in Monroe.
A lobster’s carapace must be three inches long, as measured in the water, to be legally harvested.
Visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website for further season details and a list of areas where lobster harvesting is prohibited.
