Daniella Levine Cava warns HD 113 candidate against picture use

For the second time in just over a week, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava warned a candidate against using her photo to falsely suggest she’s endorsing them.

Writing on the Mayor’s behalf, lawyer Juan-Carlos Planas sent a cease-and-desist letter to House District 113 candidate Andres Althabe objecting to a mailer with her image.

Levine Cava “is neutral” in the HD 113 race, Planas wrote.

A group not directly linked to Althabe’s campaign paid for the mailer.

Planas penned another letter July 22 instructing former Sweetwater City Commissioner Sophia Lacayo to stop using Levine Cava’s picture for her Miami-Dade Commission campaign.
