Democratic Rep. Dotie Joseph is well positioned this year to defend her House District 108 seat from two relatively weak Primary challengers.
She’s again facing Roy Hardemon, whom she supplanted in 2018. Hardemon has a lengthy rap sheet dating back decades, including a 2014 conviction for the battery of his then-fiancée. He’s also raised just $1,500 this cycle.
Her other opponent, former North Miami City Clerk Michael Etienne, pleaded guilty to charges of misusing taxpayer money in 2018. He’s raised $64,000 this year.
Joseph, meanwhile, amassed $170,000 this cycle, when she also delivered millions to her district in state and federal funds.
