Three Democrats vying for first elected office in Primary HD 101 seat contest

by carlislewillard

In the race to fill an open House seat in southwest Broward County, lawyer Hillary Cassel is the best funded, Todd Delmay, an LGBTQ activist, has the Sun-Sentinel endorsement, and Clay Miller likely has the youth vote locked; he’s the Broward Young Democrats‘ President.

Whoever wins in the Aug. 23 Primary will meet the Republican who has filed for the seat, Guy Silla. These Democrats are vying to score elected office for the first time, representing House District 101.

The Democratic Primary winner is heavily favored to win overall. The district – covering Hollywood, Dania Beach, Davie and Hallandale Beach – leans Democratic.
