The Dolphins lost an exhibition game Saturday against Las Vegas, which doesn’t matter.
But Miami saw positive things from a couple of rookies, and quarterback Tua Tagovaiola looked good. Those things matter very much.
“I was really happy with Tua,” head coach Mike McDaniel said after he completed 6-of-8 passes in his two drives.
Rookie QB Skylar Thompson completed 9-of-10 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. Another rookie, wide receiver Erik Ezukanma, caught 6 passes for 114 yards.
On defense, rookie linemen Ben Stille and Owen Carney each had a sack.
Miami finishes the preseason on Saturday against Philadelphia.
