More voters produced a more decisive win for Democratic Rep. Daryl Campbell as he faced a rematch with Special Primary opponent Elijah Manley who he bested by 15 points eight months ago.
With nearly twice the 12,342 voters that turned out in January, Campbell was returned to representing House District 99 by a 42-point margin.
Since the two rivals’ last match, the central-Broward County district was reconfigured to include Wilton Manors. The city hosts an annual pride event, but it did not give Manley a boost, even though he identifies as queer.
No Republican filed to challenge Campbell in November.
