Former Bay Harbor Islands Mayor Jordan Leonard will face former reality TV star Fabían Basabe for House District 106, which include all or part of Aventura, Bay Harbor Islands, Miami Beach, North Bay Village, North Miami Beach and Sunny Isles.
Leonard defeated special education teacher Gustavo Ortega Tuesday in the Democratic Primary with 74% of the vote.
Basabe, meanwhile, defeated financial services professional Lynn Su Sutjapojnukul and small businesss owner Douglas Ross with 38% of the vote.
The winner of that contest on Nov. 8 will replace term-limited Democratic Rep. Joe Geller, who has endorsed Leonard as his preferred successor.
