Broward School Board suspensions fall on one incumbent up for re-election

by carlislewillard

Responding to a grand jury report that rapped the Broward County School Board for “neglect of duty,” Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the names of four men who will replace the four women members recommended for suspension.

Two of the four members named were stepping down in November. Another replacement will serve until 2024. The fourth Board member recommended for removal, Donna Korn, won the most votes for re-election last week but not enough to avoid a runoff.

She said she’s confident the voters will choose her in the runoff against candidate Allen Zeman in November and DeSantis will honor voters’ wishes.
