Could 2022 be the year we saved the Florida Panther?

by carlislewillard

The Florida Wildlife Federation would love 2022 to be remembered as the year we saved the Florida Panther.

Congress is set to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, or RAWA. It would mean $1.4 billion a year in funding for wildlife, and be the biggest conservation win since 1973’s Endangered Species Act. And it couldn’t be more timely, since more than a third of our nation’s animals and plants are threatened by extinction.

RAWA also includes nearly $100 million for the nation’s Native American tribes, which own or help manage nearly 140 million acres of land in the U.S. #gamechanger
