The University of Miami tuned up for tougher times ahead by routing outmanned Bethune-Cookman 70-13 in the Hurricanes’ opening game Saturday.
In Mario Cristobal‘s first game as UM’s head coach, the ‘Canes had 605 yards of offense and scored touchdowns on nine of 10 red-zone opportunities.
Miami led B-CU 42-10 by halftime.
“We executed at the level that we expected to execute against a team that we have a lot of respect for, that has a lot of good players, and that plays hard,” Cristobal said.
Miami hosts Southern Miss on Saturday before traveling to Texas A&M on Sept. 17.
