The Miami Dolphins announced they would create two memorial funds in memory of Jason Jenkins, the senior vice president of Communications and Community Affairs.

Jenkins, 47, died unexpectedly on Aug. 27.

In a news release, the Dolphins said The Jenkins Children’s Fund would support Jenkins’ three children. The Jason Jenkins Humanity Impact Fund will help people through the various organizations Jenkins loved and served.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross donated $2 million, with $1 million dedicated to funding the educational needs of Jenkins’ children.

Another $1 million is earmarked toward the assistance of people who need help in the South Florida community.
