Former Broward County Commissioner Barbara Sharief may be less than a month removed from losing a race for Senate District 35 to incumbent Sen. Lauren Book. Now she has her sights set on 2024.
On Tuesday, Sharief announced she has filed paperwork to run for SD 35 in two years, when Book will reach term limits. She said talking to supporters and listening to voters’ concerns encouraged her.
“The Primary showed me the huge amount of support I have,” she said in a statement, “and how much I can do for the community I represented as a Commissioner for 13 years.”
