The Miami Hurricanes began the season with big dreams, but it took a nightmarish turn with a stunning home loss to Middle Tennessee State.
The Blue Raiders, 25.5-point underdogs, routed UM 45-31, and it wasn’t that close.
“It was a butt-kicking from the very beginning,” MTSU coach Rick Stockstill said.
‘Canes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, the ACC’s rookie of the year last season, was benched after throwing two interceptions and completing 16 of 32 passes.
“They coached better than us. They played better than us,” Miami Coach Mario Cristobal said. “They were better. We didn’t do a good enough job.”
