Florida Atlantic came agonizingly close to knocking off Purdue of the Big Ten Conference but fell 28-26 after a potential tying two-point conversion attempt failed with about five minutes left.
“Tough loss for our football team. We had an opportunity there, and we didn’t capitalize. But I’m really proud of the way our guys competed for four quarters,” Owls Coach Willie Taggart said.
“That’s something we talked about all week long, going out and competing for four quarters and seeing what the outcome would be.”
The Owls are now 2-3 and have another road game on Saturday at North Texas.
