Panthers reach contract extension with Spencer Knight

by Margaret Willard

The Florida Panthers and goaltender Spencer Knight agreed on a three-year contract extension through the 2025-26 season.

“Spencer is a phenomenal goaltender, as well as an exceptional athlete and person,” General Manager Bill Zito said. “He has thrived in his professional career, dedicating himself to his training through his first two seasons with our organization.”

As a rookie last season, Knight had a 19-9-3 record, .908 save percentage, and 2.79 goals against average over 32 games. His 19 wins set a rookie franchise record.

Knight was also the NHL’s Rookie of the Month in April after logging a 6-1-0 record.
