Animal shelters take in Hurricane Ian’s displaced pets

by carlislewillard

South Florida animal rescues are stepping up to help hurricane-displaced pets.

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League took in 57 cats and dogs from Gulf Coast Humane Society in Fort Myers after it lost a roof in Hurricane Ian last week. The West Palm Beach animal shelter is requesting for donations for their care and additional transports.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue brought back 20 dogs from the same shelter and 12 more from another. The Loxahatchee dog shelter is accepting money for their care in addition to food, blankets and crates that can be dropped off at the ranch, 1444 Okeechobee Blvd.
