Former Florida GOP Chair Al Cárdenas would rather see Democratic Miami Sen. Annette Taddeo in Congress than have her incumbent Republican opponent serve another term.
It’s the first time in four decades he’s backing a Democrat for Congress, he said, noting Taddeo “puts her country and her state above herself.”
Cárdenas has been scathingly critical of Donald Trump. That disdain appears to extend to the former President’s allies, including U.S. Rep. María Elvira Salazar, Taddeo opponent in Congressional District 27.
Salazar last year voted against impeaching Trump after the Jan. 6 riot and repeated his lies about widespread voter fraud.
