A promising start to the season has given way to disappointment for the University of Miami football team.
After starting 2-0, the ‘Canes dropped their third consecutive game Saturday, 24-21, at North Carolina to open ACC play.
“We came up short,” UM Coach Mario Cristobal said. “It’s disappointing. We played hard, showed resiliency, good responses. Critical errors, obviously, typically tell the tale of a game like this.”
‘Canes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke completed 42 of 57 passes for 496 yards, setting the school record for completions and attempts.
Miami plays next at Virginia Tech on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
