Mistakes doom FIU in loss to Connecticut

by carlislewillard

FIU was dominated at home Saturday by Connecticut, losing 33-12 to fall to 2-3 on the season.

The Panthers had high hopes after a solid 21-7 road win the week before at New Mexico State, but UConn wasted no time letting FIU know things were different in this game.

Connecticut opened an early 14-0 lead by making the most out of Panthers’ turnovers. By halftime, the Huskies were up 20-0, and coasted to the victory.

Junior running back Lexington Joseph was a bright spot for the Panthers. He had 102 rushing yards, the most by an FIU player this season.
