In the 57 days before Oct. 1, Democratic Miami Sen. Annette Taddeo paid out $813,000, nearly double what her Republican opponent for Congressional District 27 spent the same period.
That’s despite raising 33% less than the $838,000 collected by incumbent U.S. Rep. María Elvira Salazar, whom Taddeo hopes to unseat next month.
The majority of Taddeo’s spending covered marketing, including $607,000 paid to Chicago-based AL Media for digital and TV ads. She spent another $45,000 on mailers.
Salazar spent $428,000 from Aug. 4 to Sept. 30. Roughly 64% of that went to mailers and various financial- and fundraising-focused consulting services.
