Democratic lawyer A.J. D’Amico’s bid to represent Coral Gables, Key Biscayne and Miami in the Statehouse now has support from Miami-Dade’s top county official.
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said D’Amico has the necessary “bipartisan credentials and government experience” to serve the county well.
“(He) will be a strong advocate for solutions to Florida’s toughest challenges,” she said.
Levine Cava’s endorsement joins dozens of others from current and former elected officials and advocacy organizations.
D’Amico is running against Republican political insider and former Lee County Commissioner Vicki Lopez for the right to succeed outgoing Rep. Nick Duran in House District 113.
