Florida Atlantic rallied from an early two-touchdown deficit to defeat Rice 17-14, snapping a three-game losing streak.
After Rice scored on two of its first three possessions, the Owls’ defense began to dominate and held the visitors scoreless over the last three quarters.
“That was a great win against a good football team. It probably wasn’t pretty, but it was good, and it felt good,” FAU Coach Willie Taggart said.
“It was good to see our guys improve on the various things that we needed to, and we got the results that we’re looking for. Great win for the Owls.”
