Ashley Moody renews Broward Schools’ warning of ‘rainbow fentanyl’ ahead of Halloween

by carlislewillard

Echoing warnings Broward Public Schools sent last month following an advisory by the Drug Enforcement Agency, Attorney General Ashley Moody is telling parents to look for fentanyl in their kids’ Halloween candy.

She called this “the scariest Halloween in (her) lifetime.”

An alarmingly potent opioid, fentanyl has sent overdoses skyrocketing in recent years. Now it’s being made multicolored to “attract children,” Moody said.

In September, Broward Schools warned of “rainbow fentanyl,” saying the drug has been found in actual candy like Jolly Ranchers and gummy bears.

The DEA said thousands of the colorful pills have been seized at the border.
