Miami-Dade poll foreshadows gloomy outcome for Charlie Crist

by carlislewillard

A poll of Miami-Dade residents that ended less than two weeks before Halloween produced gloomy revelations for Charlie Crist.

The poll by South Florida consulting firm Public Communications indicates Gov. Ron DeSantis may be the first Republican gubernatorial candidate to win in Miami-Dade in two decades.

Enthusiasm for DeSantis among Republicans is far higher than among Democrats for Crist, pollsters found. And while independents don’t love either candidate, DeSantis at least elicited some feeling. A whopping 42.5% of no-party voters either hold a neutral opinion or none of Crist.

“Translation: It’s over (for Crist),” said Evan Ross, the firm’s CEO.
