Dolphins climb out of the hole to outlast Detroit

by Margaret Willard

The Dolphins rallied from a two-touchdown deficit Sunday to overhaul Detroit 31-27, and quarterback   Tua Tagovailoa  led the way.

He completed 29 of 36 passes for 382 yards and three touchdowns as Miami improved to 5-3. The Dolphins have won both games since Tagovailoa returned after missing two games because of injury.

Receiver Tyreek Hill had 11 catches for 180 yards.

But as Miami Herald columnist Greg Cote noted, there are warning signs Dolphins fans can’t ignore. Miami continues to commit too many penalties, including seven against the Lions and others that Detroit declined.

Miami is at Chicago next Sunday.
