Rep. Chip LaMarca was facing new headwinds as he took on his 2020 Democratic challenger again in Broward County’s sole House District entirely within blue Broward County.
His district was the only one in the county supporting President Donald Trump, but redistricting erased that advantage and his vote for new restrictions on abortion put him in the crosshairs of Ruth’s List Florida, an organization boosting female politicians who support abortion rights.
But HD 100 is sending him back to Tallahassee – he widened his 2020 margin of victory against Linda Thompson Gonzalez by 4 points for a victory of 14 percentage points.
