Rep. Dana Trabulsy in 2020 became the first Republican to represent St. Lucie County’s House District 84 in memory, and she’s going to keep it that way.
The freshman lawmaker sailed to victory against her Democratic challenger, Forest Blanton, winning 61% of the votes to Blanton’s 39%, unofficial results show.
Her victory was fueled in part by support from state Republicans, plus donations that dwarfed Blanton’s. For this election cycle, Trabulsy has raised more than $332,096 between her personal campaign account and her two political committees. Blanton, a retired health care executive, raised less than $10,000 and loaned his campaign $15,000.
