Republican Rep. Mike Caruso’s bid for a third term in new territory cruised past a Democrat vying for her first elected office in north Palm Beach County’s House District 87.
Caruso, a certified public accountant, won 59% of the votes to the 41% that voted for Sienna Osta, a West Palm Beach lawyer. Osta was vastly outraised and outspent in her bid that she said she undertook due to Caruso’s votes in favor of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ agenda.
Caruso moved north after redistricting put his longtime Delray Beach home in a more Democratic-leaning district that also includes Democratic Rep. Joe Casello.
