The Broward County School Board runoff election presented voters with a big unknown and voters ultimately chose to elect the candidate they knew the Governor would not immediately suspend.
Incumbent at-large member Donna Korn is one of the four Board members Governor Ron DeSantis suspended for “incompetence, neglect of duty and misuse of authority” after a grand jury report days before she won the most votes in the August Primary.
DeSantis’ office was silent on whether she would be suspended again. Ultimately, though, the voters chose her rival, Allen Zeman, who was elected by 3 percentage points, unofficial results show.
