FIU’s hope of extending its football winning streak to three games evaporated quickly Saturday at North Texas.
The Mean Green scored just 50 seconds into the game, and by early in the second quarter, the Panthers trailed by 38 points. They wound up losing 52-14. FIU’s record fell to 4-5 with the loss.
“North Texas kicked our butts,” FIU Coach Mike MacIntyre said. “They are a really good football team. … We did not play well. I’m really disappointed in our coaching staff and myself and our players.”
The Panthers return home on Saturday for a rivalry game against Florida Atlantic.
