The FAU Owls men’s basketball team beat their cross-region rival Saturday, crushing the FIU Panthers, 79-53 and hitting a program-high mark – a nine-game winning streak.
The team hasn’t lost since Nov. 11, the second game of the season. Saturday’s win topped FAU’s previous winning streak record, set in 2010-11.
The Panthers could get no closer to the soaring Owls than when the score was at 25-22 with six minutes to go in the first half. But then the Owls went on a 17-point run.
Next, the team tries to keep the streak alive tonight, taking on Northern Kentucky at home.
