Winner: Vickie Cartwright.
The Broward County Superintendent was reinstated in her position after four of the five-member “reform board” members Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed to the Broward School Board were replaced with elected Board members.
Loser: Vickie Cartwright.
Her reinstatement is good only until Jan. 24, and Cartwright has lost the support of the new Board Chairwoman Lori Alhadeff. Cartwright faces a new Board member who doesn’t support her, one remaining DeSantis appointee and a vacant seat that might be filled by another DeSantis appointee because of an election snafu. She can’t afford to lose one more person’s support.
