The turmoil-racked Broward County School Board will be in its third iteration in three months as Gov. Ron DeSantis reappointed Daniel Foganholi to serve in the place of Rodney Velez of Hollywood, whose 27-year-old felony conviction prevented him from taking his elected office.
Velez learned after his November election that although his voting rights had been restored, only a clemency hearing could restore his right to serve on an elected board.
Foganholi of Coral Springs had been appointed to the Board before to serve out the unexpired term of Sen. Rosalind Osgood, whose seat was filled via election last month.
