U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s district is getting $95 million worth of the $1.7 trillion federal spending bill that Congress passed as the deadline to finance the government ticked down last week.

The bulk of it — $55 million — will boost the $190 million Congress budgeted in 2018 for Fort Lauderdale’s U.S. District Court building.

Rising construction costs required the additional funds to get the 255,000-square foot project off the ground.

The other $40 million to be distributed includes $11 million to Florida International University for studying sea level rise. Another $5 million goes to improve University Drive in Davie.
