The Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team’s 12-game winning streak came within two points of ending Saturday when the University of North Carolina at Charlotte cut the Owls’ 20-point lead to 66-64 with 1:16 in regulation play remaining.
Luckily, guard Alijah Martin came through with a clutch 3-pointer with 45 seconds left to push the lead back to 69-64, and the Owls held on for their 13th straight victory in a 71-67 final score.
The Owls, now 14-1, have a 13-game winning streak on – the longest in school history and second-longest active winning streak in the country, school officials said.
