Winner: Maxwell Frost, Jared Moskowitz
The two freshman lawmakers have already landed spots as Vice Chairs on the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force in Congress. That’s an issue close to both men. Moskowitz was instrumental in the Florida House in passing the 2018 gun safety law following the Parkland shooting, and Frost has spent years as a gun control activist.
Loser: Robert Dempster
Dempster, the Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chair, is dealing with criticism from party members that he mismanaged the party’s finances. The group is demanding an audit, while floating the possibility that some of Dempster’s actions could be criminal.
