Six people, ranging from a lawyer to three former superintendents from three different states, have applied to be Broward County schools superintendent, the Sun Sentinel reported.
The nation’s sixth-largest school district has been accepting applications for its top job even though its current Superintendent Vickie Cartwright still occupies it.
After being fired by a board with a majority of gubernatorial appointees, and then reinstated by the elected one that replaced it, Cartwright is facing the end of her 90-day probation next week and the School Board’s judgement on her performance,
Cartwright became Broward’s top educator nearly a year ago.
