Just past the midseason point, the Florida Panthers have won five games out of the last seven overall for the first time this season, according to the Associated Press.
The Sunrise-based team iced the Sabres 4-1 Monday with Matthew Tkachuk extending his point streak to seven games, the AP reported. He’s leading his teammates in both scoring and assists. The Panthers acquired him from Calgary last July.
With 42 games played, Tkachuk has been credited with 34 assists and 22 points. His performance this season won him his second appearance in the NHL All-Star Game on Feb. 4 in Sunrise.
