South Florida’s Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: Javier Enriquez

Gov. Ron DeSantis lifted Judge Enriquez up to the 11th Judicial Circuit Court. The move continues an upward trajectory for Enriquez following his 6-point loss for the House District 114 seat in 2018 (back when Democrats could still win in Miami-Dade). Enriquez served in state government, then as a Miami-Dade County Court Judge, before the latest promotion.

Loser: FTX Arena

Bye bye, FTX. After a stunning collapse into bankruptcy, the home of the Miami Heat has dropped the FTX brand and been temporarily renamed the Miami-Dade Arena. A judge terminated the deal between FTX and the county.
