The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce is honoring Doral Republican Sen. Ana Maria Rodriguez as its “2023 Legislative Champion” for her leadership and affordable housing efforts.
Rodriguez, who was to receive the award during the Chamber’s Tallahassee fly-in Tuesday, chairs the Miami-Dade legislative delegation.
The Chamber noted legislation she has repeatedly sponsored to allow local governments to grant tax exemptions to landlords who rent units at affordable rates.
Rodriguez told Florida Politics she is “thankful and humbled.”
“I grew up professionally being involved with the Chamber as a Leadership Miami graduate,” she said. “So, in many ways, it’s a homecoming.”
