Say what you will about the Florida Panthers’ middling season, now 24-22, its Saturday victory over the NHL-leading Boston Bruins has got to be a morale booster.
With just 2.4 seconds left in regulation play, Florida captain Aleksander Barkov tied the game, The Associated Press reports. The Bruins’ final icing came when Sam Reinhart scored in overtime.
Prior to Saturday’s game, the Bruins had not lost to any one team twice this season. If the Panthers were to make it into the playoffs, it would be as the last wild card, likely meaning a Round 1 date with the Bruins.
