The Miami Dolphins landed some of that soaring Philadelphia Eagles’ magic — the team’s defensive play, anyway — as the Super Bowl-bound team’s defensive consultant has signed on with the Phins.
Vic Fangio replaces sacked defensive coordinator Josh Boyer in a deal that makes him the NFL’s highest-paid defensive coordinator, the Sun Sentinel reported.
Fangio spent 19 seasons as a defensive coordinator before becoming head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2019 to 2021. His last season as defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears in 2018 ranked him first in points allowed and first in rush yards allowed, according to NFL.com.
