Florida Panthers Matthew Tkachuk thrilled the hometown crowd at the NHL All-Star Game played in Sunrise Saturday with a performance that won him the most valuable player for the all-star event.
Tkachuk, who was traded from the Calgary Flames to the South Florida team last July, scored seven points on Saturday. His performance lifted the Atlantic Division over the Central Division, 7-5 in the final game, contributing one goal and one assist after scoring three goals and two assists in the 10-6 semifinal win against the Metropolitan Division.
His brother Ottawa’s Brady Tkachuk was also playing for the Atlantic Division.
