South Florida’s Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: Martin Zilber

Zilber is raking in the endorsements and cash ahead of the Feb. 27 Special Election to replace former Miami City Commissioner Ken Russell. This past week saw the Miami police union back Zilber. New financial reports saw Zilber pull in more cash than the next three candidates combined.

Loser: Sara Baxter

Baxter a newly elected Palm Beach County Commissioner, is beclowning herself, with a series of perplexing proposals. Baxter wants to do away with vendor rules meant to root out corruption so she can make changes to her office more swiftly. Even Republican colleagues are pushing back.
