Boca Raton voters asked to change charter March 14

by carlislewillard

Boca Raton voters won’t be asked to decide who fills the City Council – but they will be asked to approve increasing City Council members’ terms.

Mayor Scott Singer is unopposed for his final term. An open seat drew just one candidate: real estate lawyer Marc Wigder to fill the seat term-limited Council member Andrea O’Rourke is vacating. And Fran Nachlas is the only candidate who filed for the seat Andy Thomson left to run unsuccessfully for the Legislature.

Still, on March 14, voters will be asked to approve increasing City Council terms from three years to four-year terms.
