Winner: Mike Grieco

Grieco’s team last week highlighted favorable polling for Grieco’s newly announced bid to become the next Miami Beach Mayor. The survey showed 50% of respondents viewed Grieco favorably, with just 16% viewing him unfavorably. Grieco is running against former Democratic Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Góngor and Republican candidate David Hundley.

Loser: Insurance companies

Two Miami-Dade lawmakers are fronting legislation designed to bring relief for homeowners. The measure would more closely regulate collateral protection insurance, a type of insurance used by lenders that can increase costs for mortgage holders. The bill aims to add limitations for those insurers.
