Winner: Sabina Covo.
Covo won a 13-way contest (no, that’s not a typo) to take the District 2 seat on the Miami City Commission in a Special Election. Covo will finish the term of Ken Russell, who resigned to run for Congress. Covo will be able to seek re-election to a full term on Nov. 7.
Loser: Lauren Book.
Voters barked at Book after she floated banning drivers from letting a dog stick its head outside a car window. Book walked back the proposal, which, to be fair, was one part of a larger (and mostly less controversial) animal safety bill.
