UF plan to build downtown WPB graduate school stalls over donation dispute

by carlislewillard

A plan to build a $200 million University of Florida campus in downtown West Palm Beach is now on pause. A billionaire is balking at a land donation that he had previously believed would get the entire campus named after him, according to reporting in The Palm Beach Post.

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross had pledged $50 million to make it happen – halfway toward the $100 million needed to draw down a state grant. But the donation of 5 acres that billionaire Jeff Greene owns has hit a roadblock because UF is offering to name just a building after him.
