Levine Cava is trying to get a head start on her re-election bid, announcing several key hirings and raising $250,000 in just 10 days since formally launching a campaign for a second term. Levine Cava, a Democrat, won the nonpartisan position in 2020, becoming the county’s first woman mayor.
Loser: Concerned Citizens of Pinecrest
The political committee pushed for a referendum requiring 60% of residents to approve future changes to the zoning code and creation of new zoning districts. But residents rejected the proposal last week, voting it down in line with recommendations from the council.
