A Miami-based support group for mothers of LGBTQ children is featured in “Mama Bears,” a documentary on the nationwide acceptance movement that is showing in Miami on Thursday.
They call themselves “mama bears” and they stay connected through Facebook in the fight for the children they accept and love completely, the documentary’s preview says.
The event is planned for 7 p.m. at O Cinema South Beach, 1130 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Tickets, that will include a post-screening discussion with the producer and director, are $11 with discounts for O Cinema members, those 62 and older, children and military personnel.
